Yes I did it!

I had mentioned yesterday that after my 1 mile run I felt that I could have kept going, and today I did! I ran 2 miles today on the treadmill, even after I did 2.5 miles on the elliptical! I still felt like I could keep going on the treadmill but again I ran out of time at the gym.

Should I keep running until I am totally maxed out each day, or should I increase 1 mile each week?

Like I said I have never been a runner, so I don’t really know what these signals from my body mean.  I don’t want to burn myself out, but I also want to continue making progress.

Breakfast today was the same as yesterday, English muffin, cream cheese, strawberry jelly.  I was going to mix some of my cereals together but I was running late so I just popped the muffin in the toaster oven while I got ready for work.

For lunch I also had the same thing I had yesterday, Turkey sandwich, butttt I had lunch outside with my mommy! Really it’s the little things in life that put a smile on my face!

I was having a not to stellar morning, reasons too frustrating to explain, but after having lunch with my mom the entire day turned around.

I was totally super wife today after work.  I got home and got my couponing stuff together while I waited for Lauren to come over to go couponing.  She wanted to get some hair dye and I told her not to pay for it because I could get it for cheap, possibly even free.  After I got my couponing stuff together, I threw in a load of laundry, and Lauren and I headed to Rite Aid.

Pretty good deals at Rite Aid this week, not fabulous but pretty good. (free toothpaste, free Cortaid Itch spray)

Hopefully I will get to hit up CVS either tomorrow or Friday. So back to Super Wife, when we got back I asked Lauren to peel the potatoes for dinner, while I mowed the lawn.  We have been so busy on the weekends our lawn was getting a bit out of control:

Then I proceeded to mow the lawn, but not before I threw the clothes into the dryer and started a new load and one hour later our lawn was back to normal:

And Ella was happy to have her yard back.  I decided to reward my hard work:

Dinner tonight was beer Brats, Potatoes, and veggies. YUM.

I let the pro do the grilling:

And waited until it was my turn to do what I do best:

Eating *happy face*

Alright folks that is all for tonight! I hope everyone had a great day!

I always forget to take pictures!

Hello blog friends! How is everyone doing today?! Great I hope!  It was another rainy and humid morning but I got out of bed and headed to the gym! I did 3.5 miles on the elliptical and ran a mile on the treadmill.  The best part about this workout was that after I had finished my mile run I felt like I could have kept going.  I wonder if my body is telling me to increase my running distance.

As you know I will be running my first 10k in October which really doesn’t seem like it would be hard to run, but I am a horrible runner.  I have never been able to run more than 3 miles; well I have never actually tried so I shouldn’t say that I can’t do it. Tomorrow, depending on how I feel in the morning, I will try and run a bit longer.

Breakfast today was an English muffin, cream cheese, and strawberry jelly.  I love this stuff. Really I just love cream cheese, ha. Lunch today was the same as yesterday, turkey sandwich, so I will spare you the repeat picture.

I did finally fix my work computer.  I have been working on installing a program called DROOLS for 3 days and I finally got it to run! I was so proud of myself.  I installed it on my laptop, but when I went to install it on my work machine, the program would not work, and no one could figure out why.  Anyway, I got it to run and now I can start figuring out how to right these fire safety rules with the program.
After work we headed down to Manassas to pick up my car! They did such a great job down there, and I am so happy to have my car back!  Thank you to my wonderful mother in law for letting me borrow the car while my car was being repaired!

My sister went over to our house to play with Ella while we were driving around, so when we got home they stayed over for dinner.  My mom made some yummy Iranian food, with lentils and fries, mmmm mmm mm, sorry no picture.  I get so excited at meal time that 50% of the time I either have to be reminded to take a picture, or I just completely forget.  That is what happens when you are a PFK (professional fat kid, a story for another time).

Well Cars is on TV and I love love love that movie, so I am going to go watch it, I hope everyone has a great night!

Does anyone else have trouble remembering to take pictures of their food or is it just me?

No Motivation…

But I fought through it.  It was storming this morning and I had ZERO desire to go to the gym.  So I didn’t, I wasn’t feeling too well either, but I didn’t want to feel sluggish all day so I popped in the Core Synergistics workout! It felt really good to work out, so I am really glad I fought through my lack of motivation.

Lunch today was a turkey sandwich:

It was really good, and I am glad it was because yesterday we waited in the deli line at Giant for 20 minutes.  It was actually quite ridiculous; apparently everyone wanted to get deli meat yesterday.  Oh I forgot to mention when we got into work this morning we saw one of these crazy guys sitting on the patio outside our office:

It was quite an ominous way to start out the week. I am hoping that doesn’t dictate how this work week is going to go, ha!

We had another birthday in the office today and they brought this:

ICE CREAM CAKE!  Really?! I will never, in my whole life be able to say no to ice cream cake. Never. That is all I have to say about that, other than the fact that I am really glad I did my work out this morning, ha.

Luke called me as I was leaving the office, and my car wasn’t ready yet, so both Erik and I went home so we could hang out with him.  We wanted to play tennis, but when we got to the courts they were full, and Luke just happened to have a basketball in his trunk (ps you have to see all the literal junk he has in his trunk).  We played a few games of HORSE, before heading back home.  We called Katie and all headed over to get Pho!  I got my usual #18 (chicken Pho, white meat) but was kicking myself because I wasn’t in the mood for soup and I should have tried something different.  Oh well we go there enough that I am sure I will try something new soon.

Well that is all for today. I hope everyone had a great day!

Weekend Round-Up

Hello blog friends!  Sorry I haven’t posted all weekend, but I have been really busy.  Friday as you know we decided to stay in and Katie came over (PS Katie started a Blog its super cute please check it out!) and we had some snacks and this:

Have you ever tried these? They are fabulous! They aren’t too bad for you either, a perfect light summer treat.

You know the fiasco I had with my car on Friday; well we got up Saturday morning and took my car to Manassas to a family friend who is going to fix my brakes for half the price! YAY.  After that we (me, Erik, my mom and sister) went to Eggspectations ,

because I had bought a restaurant.com coupon for $2! O M G this place was soooo good. My sister and I had a dish called “York around the Clock”

“A bagel cut in half, toasted then put on the grill, two eggs (sunny side) in the hole of the bagel, covered with bacon and melted cheese, served with grilled potatoes and chef’s fruit garnish.”

Fab! My mom had a veggie omelet:

And Erik had the “Smoked Salmon Benedict”:

Two eggs poached, smoked salmon, gruyère cheese with our classic hollandaise sauce.

It also looked really yummy.  He said it was good but not as good as the one at Restaurant 3, mainly because that one was so different (they used corn bread instead of an English muffin).  After that we went to Costco and got some things we need, and something we didn’t really need:

A new bed for Ella.  It was so cheap and we knew she would love it, so we just got it for her.  She has been curled up on her new bed all weekend, so it was a good purchase.  My mommy also gave me her first tomato off of her tomato plant:

Today we went to Eastern Market, to have lunch with our friend Philippe. We went to 7th Hill Pizza , it was glorious. I didn’t take any pictures of our meal, it was super hot and we were hungry.  But if you live in the area I highly recommend it.  After we ate, we went to Eastern Market to visit with Hyojon and his dad, they have a tent there go see them! And then headed over to Philippe’s house to hang out for a bit before dinner.

I love them with all of my heart! Ah they are the cutest!  We then headed home to get ready for dinner at Erik’s parent’s house for Father’s Day dinner.  Earlier today we went and visited my dad at the cemetery, I miss him so so so much, and I really hope he is happy and healthy in Heaven.  I want to wish him and all the dads in the world a very happy Father’s Day.

Sunny and Diana made us some amazing (as usual) Korean BBQ for dinner. (no pics sorry) The twelve of us ate about 10 lbs of meat!  Well we almost finished it, there was 2 strips of meat left, we were STUFFED!  After dinner we enjoyed the weather and some Mint Moose Tracks, before heading home and hitting the sack!

It was a glorious weekend, and now I can’t wait for next weekend! I hope everyone had a great weekend as well. I am off to bed!

Double XXL Burrito

No I didn’t write that incorrectly tonight for dinner Erik had two XXL Grilled Stuft Burritos:

Let’s step back… this morning I had to take my car to the dealership because the “fix me I’m broken light” came on.  I despise this light; it is the bane of my existence. My mommy picked me up from the dealership and took me to work, thanks mommy, but not before I realized that I had forgotten my backpack with my laptop and everything I need for work! Ugh, super frustrating! Instead of going home to get my stuff we drove to my mom’s house to get a computer mouse for my work computer (I have had this computer for a week, but the mouse they sent with my computer was the wrong one, so I have been using my own laptop).  I haven’t used a computer mouse with a ball in it since 1999, my how technology has changed.

Lunch today was glorious! I had lunch with my mommy again, this will be a weekly occurrence so just get used to it *happyface*, and we went to a little Greek Restaurant in Vienna called Plaka Grill.
We each got the “Chicago Gyro”,

And shared a side of Fries:

After lunch I went back to work and spent the rest of the day trying to set up all the programs I need on my work computer.  This was until I got a call from the dealership…

Yup, angry face, that “B” called me and left a message with a list of BALONEY that NEEDED to be done to my car. Let me give you the list…

  1. New front brake pads & Rotors  -- $634
  2. Fix bubble in front tire-- $370
  3. Steering fluid flush --$165
  4. Fuel Induction Service -- $165 ß is this real?
  5. Rear Axle  Service (please someone tell me what this is) -- $130
  6. Fix broken cup holder --$158
  7.  Alignment-- $170
  8.  Coolant Exchange -- $165

Again please refer to the above picture for my reaction. Needless to say I called them and told her that I thought the quote was ridiculous and that I wanted to pick up my car immediately.  I will never take my car back there again! My mom emailed me about 30 minutes later and said that she wanted to go home, so we left to go pick up my car.  They didn’t even care that I wasn’t going to get any service done there, but this time I WON because they totally washed my car for free! HA take that!

Dinner tonight was in fact the inspiration for the title of this post, we went to Taco Bell!

As I stated before, Erik had 2 XXL burritos, and I had one, they were most definitely double XL, so good!  The picture is misleading because we got the Steak burrito, not chicken, but I digress.  After dinner, one of my bestest friends in the whole world, Katie, came over to hang out.

Isn’t she super cute?! I love her. We had some wine:

And watched Pulp Fiction, it was glorious!  Well actually we are still watching it, so I am going to go play! YAY WEEKEND!

I can’t stop eating!

The best thing happened to me last night, food-wise, I was looking in our pantry and I found a bag of Honey Nut Cheerios.  Ok I know you were probably looking for some amazing recipe that I created that was scrawesome (super cool (or crazy) awesome), but no sorry to disappoint but you have no idea how happy it made me.  So for breakfast I had my absolute favorite:

This was after I got back from the gym.  Well it’s Thursday and it was even harder for me to get up and go to the gym, but I did it. I am dying to finish The Hunger Games, so instead of running this morning I did 40 minutes on the bike.  I rode for 13.72 miles! Woot, best part was that I got to read for 40 minutes.
We didn’t have any leftovers I could take from dinner last night, so today’s lunch is a hodgepodge of things.  I had a peach:

That my mommy got from the farmers market last weekend, YUM.

And a cereal bar from Trader Joes, an apple, Pineapple Cho-nola, and cantaloupe that my mom also got from the farmers market! Oh and obviously two pieces of chocolate from my bowl:

I FINISHED THE HUNGER GAMES DURING LUNCH TOO! OMG this book is amazing! I can’t wait to read the other two! Seriously great book, and it definitely left you wanting to read the next one.

Instead of P90x tonight I decided to do some interval runs outside with Ella. It was a nice change of pace and I know Ella loved it!  Afterwards I went to Home Depot with my mother in law to help her pick out tiles for her bathroom renovation! The tiles we picked out are going to look AWEEEEESOME! I will put picks up when the bathroom is done.

Dinner tonight was super yummy Trader Joe’s meal that I whipped up:

Orange chicken

Veggie spring rolls

And rice

I was going to make this last night, but since Erik didn’t get home until very late, I decided to save it for tonight.  I am glad I did because I was starving!  Tomorrow is my weekly lunch date with my beautiful mommy!

See you guys tomorrow!

mmm Dark Chocolate!

Hello blog friends!  Another glorious morning, I sooo did not want to get out of bed today, but I did and I headed to the gym!

Workout #1

I stayed with my routine change at the gym today but also decided to add another element.  I got to the gym a bit earlier than usual today, so I had a bit more time.  I ran my one mile on the treadmill then I decided to walk at a 24 incline for 10 minutes. I didn’t think it would be that difficult but oh man I was sweating by the end of it.  I think I will throw that in more of my workouts it was a nice change of pace.  Then I jumped onto the elliptical and did my 2.2 miles, before heading home to make bfast.

Bfast again was and English muffin with cream cheese and jam, yum! I like to make it and save it for my ride into work, which I will add is awesome compared to what it was 3 weeks ago!

Do you remember  on Sunday when I bought 6 bags of candy at CVS in order to get my $10 gas card, well I thought it would be a good idea to bring them into work and put them on my desk so when people come into my office they can have some.  Bad idea, well I mean I love sharing but I have already had 3 pieces of it, I mean who can resist dark chocolate in a bowl:

Obviously not me…

Lunch today was leftover couscous and corn relish! Yummy,

I actually don’t separate my food all the time, I think it looks better when it’s mixed up:

I got to page 285 in the Hunger Games today during lunch! I just can’t put this book down! I have a feeling I will finish it during lunch tomorrow, a book in a week!? That is awesome!

Traffic was terrible today everywhere and everyone was driving like they had nowhere to be.  Why is it that when you are in a hurry to get somewhere everyone else is driving like snails!?  I was on my way to pick up my ring from the jeweler and I had to get there by 5:30; needless to say with traffic I didn’t get there until 5:45 but luckily there were people still in there and they allowed me to go in and pick it up!  YAY!

Traffic was so bad that Erik didn’t get home from work/the gym until 9 pm! AH that is crazy.  He did go to the gym for a little over an hour and stopped off at smoothie king, lucky, so it wasn’t all bad.  Lauren came over for dinner and just to hang out, it was really nice.

Workout #2

Before we had dinner, I finished the rest of the Shoulders & Arms routine, and did Ab Ripper which made me happy/sore.

Dinner was just different version of chicken nugget tort, we are out of nuggets so I used Bourbon Chicken instead.  Not as yummy, aka I need to go to Costco this weekend and restock!

The Bourbon chicken isn’t as good as I remember it in the samples at Costco, so I don’t think I will be buying them again.  Well folks that is all for today! I hope everyone had a great Wednesday!

Glorious Weather!

Ahhh another glorious bird-chirping, wind blowing morning, a girl could really get used to this! I think Ella really loves being able to lay outside in the sun in the mornings, and it makes my heart happy that she is able to do that.

Workout #1
Today I decided to change up my gym routine and I think I really liked it.  I ran a mile on the treadmill first, and then did my 3.15 miles on the Elliptical.  I think this way I will be able to increase the distance I run on the treadmill faster, while being super efficient at the gym.  I really don’t have too much time in the mornings for the gym unless I get up earlier to go (which I don’t really wanna do), so I have to jam in all of my cardio for the day in one hour.  Eventually I would like to run a 10k in that time span, so that I can be ready for the official 10k that we signed up for in October.  I think that is going to be a big challenge for me, the furthest distance I have ever run is three miles, and to think I have to double that by October!? Insane! But I am determined to do it!

Breakfast this morning was an English muffin with cream cheese and strawberry jelly.  I know not the healthiest thing in the world, but I am out of bananas, and I refuse to eat my cheerios without bananas. (Note to self: go to store and get bananas). I did have a peach as my snack though:

Lunch was leftover couscous and Mango Cho-nola.

We have a patio at work and I tried to take an artistic picture of my lunch, my book and the patio, but that failed miserably. Oh well I will try again tomorrow, Ha! I am on page 102 of The Hunger Games, really I just want to sit by the pool and read the rest of it right now! After lunch we had birthday cake in the office:

Our intern, Joey’s, birthday was today so the managers decided to get him a cake.  It is weird (in a fabulous way) to see managers and owners of a company care about their employees.  I love this place *happy face*

Workout #2

Today’s P90x workout was Shoulders & Arms plus Ab Ripper.  I could only get through half of the workout before Erik got home and we started making dinner, so I will finish the rest of the workout tomorrow.

Dinner tonight was BBQ Salmon with corn relish, and boy was it yummy. It was such a perfectly light summer meal.  We both loved it.

Alright folks, time for more ER! Have a nice night!

Back in Action, shall we try this again?!

You know it’s going to be a good day when you wake up to birds chirping outside your window, the sun shining on your face and a slight breeze blowing through your hair! Ah I love these types of mornings, and they usually only happen on the weekends, but this was a treat!  Erik wakes up earlier than I do, so he opened all the windows in our house while he was getting ready for work. It was a great way to wake up!
After I made lunches, I headed to the gym for a nice 3.2 mile Elliptical (ride, I guess that is what you call it).  I decided against the mile run this morning because my muscles were very stiff so instead I stretched for about 10 minutes, and it felt really good.  My workout this afternoon was Core Synergistics again, which is my favorite workout, and it felt so good!

Lunch today was boring, we didn’t have any cucumbers, or lettuce left so I had a boring turkey, cheese and tomato sandwich. I was hoping to go to the store today after work, but it was such a nice day, I wanted to go home and play with Ella, she was obviously happy about this decision, Ha!

At the pool on Sunday, Diana gave me the first book of The Hunger Games Series, and I read that during my lunch break.  Oh man I am only 50 pages into the book and I can’t really put it down.  I put up a new tab of the books on my reading list, if anyone has any suggestions as to other books I should read please let me know! I love reading, especially in the summer by the pool! I have only read 3 books this year so far, and I really need to pick it up if I am going to read 11 books this year! I can do it!

Dinner tonight was really good:

I was going to make a special couscous recipe but I realized that I had bought the wrong type of couscous so I just made it as a side, and Erik spiced up the chicken and grilled it.  My piece of corn was horrible, the kernels were so small I couldn’t take a real bite of it, so Erik ate half of his piece and gave me the rest! *happy face* He is the best!

Alright folks well we are going to watch disc 2 of ER season 14, I hope everyone had a great Monday!

Pool Day!

Hello blog friends! Today was yet another hot and humid day!  We woke up this morning and had a yummy egg sandwich breakfast, the usual, while Ella sunbathed in her normal Sunday morning spot:

After breakfast, Erik mowed the lawn while I went to Rite Aid and CVS and did my couponing for the week.  Oh boy did I get some good deals at CVS this week.  The Rite-Aid Deals weren’t the best but I still got some good deals:

I spent about $13 and got back $8, not too bad.  The CVS Deals were insane this week:

I saved $78 this week.  I got all of this stuff for $30 and got back $15 and a $10 Shell gas card.  WOOT.  Actually I also got these at CVS too:

Yup, twelve Gatorades for $9, unreal! That is what helped me get the $10 Shell gas card.  I really like going couponing on Sunday mornings, because all of the good deals are still available and I don’t have to worry about them for the rest of the week.  When I got home, we changed and headed to my mom’s house to have lunch and go to the pool!

For lunch we had Iranian bread, Feta cheese, tomatoes, cucumbers and watermelon.  I failed to take a picture of it, but next time we have it I will and you can see the awesomeness.  It is something we like to have in the summertime because it is a light meal, and super easy to prepare.  All you have to do is cut up the veggies and watermelon and heat up the bread. Ahhh so good, I failed to mention that I have been craving this all week!

We spent a good 4 hours at the pool before we got hungry again and headed home.  My mom, Ava and Lauren all came over for dinner and a movie.  It had started to rain so we knew our softball games were going to be cancelled, so we gave in and got Papa John’s Pizza for dinner.  Again sorry no pics.  After dinner we watched “Step Up 3”, and I am not ashamed to say it was a good movie, way better than the second one.  We love the step up series because of all the really cool dance moves!

Alright folks, its bedtime! Ewwww tomorrow is Monday! I hope everyone had a great weekend!
