Jr. Seubert’s are going on a honeymoon!

Yes that’s right, we finally booked our flights for our honeymoon! First we are going to London for 10 days to stay with my family. My aunt from Iran is also going to come meet us in London, oh ya and we are forcing my mom and sister to come too! We can’t wait to see everyone again, and see the sights in England (Erik has never been before). Theeennn after our family trip in London, Erik and I are going on our official honeymoon.

We are going to IRELAND! Neither of us has been there before and we are getting more and more excited about it. We are going to be staying at a series of Bed and Breakfasts in different cities in the southern part of Ireland. YAY we can’t wait! More details later :)

Gardening Adventures Part 1

Last gardening season was my inaugural season, and needless to say my garden was a bit.. schizophrenic… I had planted way too many seeds, and with all the rain, the seeds had all moved so I didn’t know what was growing where. This was really only a problem with the herbs. So at the end of last season, we completely uprooted the garden, and covered it with leaves and grass clippings.

A couple of weeks ago I bought an indoor greenhouse thingy. And I planted my seeds in there. This year I will be growing: green beans, zucchini, roma tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, rosemary, oregano, cilantro, bell peppers, sweet basil and cucumbers. I think I already have too many plants, I will have to donate some to a few friends and family 

Last weekend we used turned the soil in our vegetable garden. They are growing quite quickly and if the weather is nice this weekend I might have to start transplanting some of them into my garden. Our little Ella is going to jump in my garden and eat all my vegetables. So I need some suggestions to keep her out, all I can think of right now is to get a few sticks and make a tall rope gate thing. I think I will try out a few Ella barriers before I transplant to see what she does with them.

I will post more gardening adventures throughout the spring and summer.

First Bloggy of 2010 :)

I suppose it is about time for an update! We have been keeping ourselves busy with Ella and life in general. I have been cooking up a storm when we get home from work everyday and I love it. Cooking really sheds away the long workday for me, add a glass of wine and you’ve got yourself a party. We had a great holiday and a really fun New Years party. Ella is getting bigger and bigger everyday. She is almost as big as Dolly (her mom), hopefully she won’t be getting too much bigger.

I guess the biggest news is that I am starting on a new project on Monday. I am really excited, because for once I feel like I am needed and wanted at my job. The new people I will be working with are so nice and approachable. And the best part is that I get a WINDOW SEAT! Yessssssss, ah the small joys in the workplace, oh ya and people smile when they walk around and actually say good morning.

Erik and I have been throwing around ideas about what we want to do next to our house. We have a crazy awesome design in our heads to expand our house in the back and add another floor. It won’t be happening for a few years, unless we win the lottery or find a large sum of money lying on the ground. But we want to sit down and come up with a drawing for our house expansion project and divide it into more manageable sections. Once we do that we can get pricing on the different sections and we can start saving appropriately. I think we are addicted to house renovations.

Well I believe that is all for now, I will try and keep this page more current.

Updates on Ella

So I lied when I said I would blog on Friday. Splory came home Friday and was with Ella and I all day! Then after school my sister came over and played with her too! Both of them were such a HUGE help, they gave me a chance to shower, and make banana bread. Lauren and I took Ella to the vet on Friday to get her frontline, so I wouldn’t be nervous about leaving her outside in our yard. We also took her over to Erik’s parents house to play with Abby, there is a video of them playing on facebook. They seemed to like each other; at first Ella would walk around Abby with her butt facing her. It was too funny.

All weekend, every time we would put Ella in her crate or in the basement and close the gate, she would scream and cry like someone was trying to kill her. What a dramatic little puppy, haha. Lauren came over Saturday night and watched Ella while Erik and I were at my cousin’s wedding; thanks Splory! Then on Sunday we took Ella to Petsmart to sign her up for her puppy classes, which she starts on Thursday. After our little Petsmart adventure we came home and I made chili for the Redskins game (which we won!) and Erik did some much needed weed whacking.

We were so nervous to leave her at home alone all day while we are at work, but so far this week Erik’s mom and Anya have been coming over and playing with her and letting her play in the backyard. And after a few nights of barely any sleep, last night Ella finally slept through the night! Erik and I went to bed at 10:30 and woke up at 5:15am and she was still sleeping! It was glorious, hopefully it wasn’t a fluke and she will sleep through the nights now.

On another note we are still awaiting our professional wedding pictures and will post the link and all the information as soon as we get it! We can’t wait to see them!

I think that is all for now, more later!

Ella Seubert

She came over Sunday night with Sean and Brandy for a few hours to get accustomed to our house. We played with her a lot and she ran around sniffing things. She followed Erik and I around most of the time, it was so cute. By the end of the night she was soo pooped, Erik took her to her crate and laid down in front of her until she fell asleep. She slept down there for a good 30 min, then woke up and was sitting at the bottom of the stairs looking up at us. Oh it was so cute. We played with her a little while longer and took her outside, fed her and then she passed out on the floor again. Haha, here are a few pictures.

We get to take her home for good Thursday night I have Friday off, and Lauren is coming home from VCU to be with us . I will report from home on Friday to let you know how she is doing!

White Water Rafting!!

Labor day weekend:

After a long sad goodbye with my cousins, Erik and I headed over to Sean and Brandy’s house to start off our Labor Day weekend trip to West va. Yes you read correctly I said West Virginia. Bleh! Despite being in West Virginia we had such an amazing time! We were in a beautiful cabin in the middle of the mountains. We went white water rafting on Sunday. I was sooooo scared, but once we got into the water I was much more relaxed.

Our guide’s name was Redneck! Haha and boy was he, he had cut off jorts for goodness sake! For those of you who do not know what cut off jorts are they are cut of jean shorts. After rafting we had a nice dinner and took a few pictures from the outlook high atop the mountains. Here are a few pictures from our trip! YAY
